The new town development project will compete with other newly established towns who have had a head-start in development. However, our new town has the advantage of starting with a cleaner slate and harness knowledge from lessons in the past decades. Planning for our New City shall be based on a contemporary paradigm, adaptable & future- proofed, attractive to invest and serve as a catalyst for transformation.
The major attractiveness those apply to our new towns in the next few decades is expected to see the population grow to similar levels as other cities. Self-standing Utilities & Basis Infrastructure by effective utilization of existing natural resources such as water, rock, solar, landscapes and so forth, mainly for roads, city water and electricity.
OBJECTIVES & INCLUSIVENESS
- Position our new cities as the unique identity integrated town in respective region
- Act as a catalyst for growth and transformation of each new town into a City of the Future
- Cater to the growing needs of industry, housing, and commercial space contributing to the growing economy
- Integrate with and become a showcase for rich cultural diversity and heritage, inclusive of Literacy, Music, Martial Arts, Trekking and etc…
- Development is based on integrated idea by effective utilization of the existing resources such as Hotel, Natural Resorts and Camping facilities.
PROJECT SCOPE
The overall scope of work for the assignment had been sub-divided into four stages of work. The first stage aimed towards developing a comprehensive understanding of the project and key risks associated with the development. Based on this, in the second stage, three options were developed and presented to the Client and relevant stakeholders during a Visioning Workshop. The team used a proprietary SSIM© lite tool to assess the options based on selected Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that benchmarked spatial adjacencies and connectivity. The Client and stakeholders provided feedback on the options and selected a set of attributes for further refinement and development of the master plan in the third stage. The last stage brought together various inputs from all disciplines into the final master plan report.
